How to get rid of ticks in from your yard?

Use essential oils
Lavender, peppermint, citronella, lemongrass, cedar, rose and citrus are all perfect in keeping ticks away. Apply a few drops on the back of your cat or dog and ticks will stay at a distance. The same thing applies for humans – you can mix a few drops of one of the above essential oils with water and pour the solution in a 200 ml spray bottle. Use it as many times you need.

Diatomaceous Earth
Purchase a bag of diatomaceous earth and sprinkle the powder in the areas you want to get rid of ticks. Surround your yard, house, dog house, etc. This is non-toxic powder and it will damage the exoskeleton of ticks causing their death.

Nematodes
Round worms simply love ticks, bugs, ants and many other tiny pests. So, if your soil isn’t rich in round worms, you can bring them into your garden.

Bring In Tick Eaters
Chickens, just like round worms, love to eat ticks and other tiny pests. But, chicken also love to eat round worms. So, set them loose in your yard to clean up any tick from your lawn. Be careful, though, cause chickens loves cabbage and other veggies, too.

Mow The Lawn
By removing all the tall grass and brush, ticks won’t have where to hangout! Grass tips are their favorite place to stay. So, after mowing the lawn and tossing the grass leftovers away, just take the hose and give your lawn nice bath. As a matter of fact you can prepare some strong Garlic Tick Repellent.
